Many people don't even realize that regular flour can be used far beyond the kitchen.
She has many amazing abilities that are worth using in the household. And five of them will be discussed in this article.
Safe glue
You can make glue from flour, which is great for gluing paper. This is a great alternative to store-bought glue, especially if you have a small child. After all, flour is non-toxic, safe, and ideal for various children's crafts, such as collages. And even if the child decides to taste the adhesive, nothing bad will happen.
To prepare, you will need 300 ml of water and 100 g of sifted flour. They need to be mixed and brought to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes uniform and thick. Then let the glue cool and pour it into a plastic bottle that is easy to squeeze out.
This glue will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks. The big advantage is that it can be easily washed off with soap and water.
Removing Grease Stains
Flour absorbs grease very well, but it is especially convenient to use it for cleaning items that are greasy from frequent use. For example, wallpaper around a switch or playing cards that have lost their decent appearance due to constant contact with hands. You need to apply flour to the greasy surface and leave it for a while, then remove it with a soft cloth. Repeat if necessary.
Cleaning stainless steel
Try sprinkling a bowl, cutlery, sink or other stainless steel item with flour and lightly rubbing it with a dry soft cloth. Then rinse with water. The metal will start to shine again. In some cases, the procedure can be repeated if the desired effect was not achieved the first time.
Repelling ants
If you are bothered by ants, try to bother them back using flour. Ants really don't like flour and will leave where it is scattered. To enhance the effect, you can mix it with hot pepper.
If you need to fence off some area from these insects, try simply pouring flour in a strip. As a rule, insects will not want to overcome such a barrier.
Instead of putty
Sometimes you need to patch up a crack or a small hole in the wall, but there is no putty at hand. A putty made from flour will help.
You need to take a tablespoon of flour, add a pinch of salt, pour in some water and make a thick dough. Cover the hole or crack with this dough.
These are far from all the ways to use flour. It can be used instead of dry shampoo to remove oily shine from hair, make an analogue of plasticine from it, powder a colony of aphids in the garden so that they die.
