Any plumbing fixture that is used regularly requires maintenance.
Enameled bathtubs are no exception. However, they cannot be cleaned with all means.
In order not to spend money on household chemicals, thrifty housewives have come up with a simple composition that will help restore the original cleanliness of an enamel bathtub.
General rules
Cast iron bathtubs should not be washed with metal sponges or hard sponges. This may leave scratches on the surface and the enamel layer will gradually become thinner.
In addition, aggressive agents with a high chlorine content are not used for cleaning.
As for washing an enameled steel bathtub, it is forbidden to use very hot water. Sharp temperature changes will eventually damage the surface. Hard and metal sponges will also have to be put aside.
How to clean a bathtub
First, you need to prepare the products from which the cleaning mixture is prepared:
- warm water – 1 l;
- vinegar – 250 ml;
- soda – 1 tsp;
- liquid soap – 1 tsp.
A mushy mixture is prepared from these components and applied to the contaminated areas. Leave for 15-20 minutes to act, and then go over these areas with a soft, damp sponge.
The plaque will disappear, the bathtub will sparkle, and the surface will remain undamaged and without any scratches.
