An expert explained what to pay attention to when choosing kvass.
Ivan Slobodanyuk is engaged in the production of kvass, so he knows what criteria a quality drink has.
The farmer pointed out that the composition of good kvass is very simple and does not consist of flavorings. Thus, the list of ingredients includes water, rye flour, sugar, malt and yeast, Vechernyaya Moskva reports.
If the label contains any other components, such as flavorings, this indicates the presence of a large amount of "chemistry" in the kvass. Sediment at the bottom of the bottle eloquently indicates that violations were made during the production process.
The farmer said that kvass is best stored in a dark bottle or aluminum container. In such conditions, the contents of the container are not exposed to sunlight.
Slobodanyuk shared that the filtered drink has the longest shelf life. Such kvass can lie on the counter for up to 2 months.
The shortest "life" period is for unfiltered, unclarified kvass. Such kvass is stored for up to 2 days. In addition, such a drink must be kept in the refrigerator in the store.
