A home improvement expert has shared a little trick that will help you get your appliances in order.
Over time, with regular use, mold may appear in the washing machine, and a musty smell may come from the machine itself.
Expert Karen Barrigan advised running a wash cycle without laundry. But before doing this, you should pour washing powder or 1 tbsp of baking soda directly into the drum, the Express reports.
To enhance the effect, pour vinegar into the detergent compartment and then start washing. The water temperature should be at least 60 degrees.
"It's best to set the temperature as high as possible to kill germs and remove any deposits and limescale," Barrigan said.
To prevent mold from forming in the powder compartment, rinse it and leave it to dry after washing.
