Most housewives believe that metal sponges or scouring pads are only needed to wash away the remains of burnt food.

In fact, this thing is much more than functional. Here's what smart housewives do with a metal sponge. Better get a few of them in reserve.

1. Sharpen the scissors

In the kitchen, sometimes you can't do without scissors. Opening a package or cutting off the fins of a fish carcass requires sharp scissors.

If you take scissors and cut a metal sponge with them, they will be sharper. And if you rub it on a grater from the bottom up, the grater will be like new.

2. Debris filter

Simply place a sponge on the drain hole of your kitchen sink and it will collect all the large and small debris. You will have to disassemble the siphon for cleaning less often.

3. Cleaning the fish

Unfold the sponge and clean the fish with it, moving from head to tail. All the scales will remain on the metal sponge, and not on the working surface.

4. Cleaning vegetables

You can also peel young vegetables, such as carrots and potatoes. You'll have to get the hang of it so as not to peel too much.

But it is better not to clean enamel dishes and other utensils with such a sponge. It is simple, but very soon the dishes will be sent to the trash.
