Housewives take care of their new kettle like the apple of their eye. They take it off the stove while they are frying something, and carefully monitor the layer of scale.

Only those lucky ones who have artesian water flowing from their taps are insured against the latter problem. For the rest, there is a folk trick.

Today, stores sell a wide variety of products for removing scale from dishes and household appliances.

However, no one wants to pour chemicals, even the most effective ones, into the dishes from which they later have to drink. So housewives pour sweet soda or vinegar into teapots.

There is a more environmentally friendly method. It is suitable for the case when scale is just starting to accumulate, i.e. a thin coating has appeared.

To do this, while preparing potatoes for dinner, leave the peelings from 4-5 tubers.

Wash them from sand and other debris, put them in a teapot and fill them with water.

Place it all on the fire, bring to a boil and then leave the potato broth in the kettle for 2-3 hours.

Then drain the broth, throw the peelings in the trash, if necessary, wipe the inside of the kettle with the hard side of a sponge, rinse and you can use it.
