Often, summer residents who leave canned goods in the cellar for the winter face a problem.

The lids of the containers in which the preserves are stored begin to rust. This does not spoil the taste of the preserves.

But summer residents still use a little trick that helps solve this problem.

High humidity is the main reason why jar lids rust. If they are stored in the basement, then you will not be able to get rid of the cause quickly.

First of all, you need to ensure quality ventilation. However, if there is no way to solve this problem right away, there is a little trick.

To do this, each jar is placed in a separate disposable bag. Thanks to this, the lid will not become rusty even after a long time.

However, it should be taken into account that if rust has formed on the inside of the lid, it is better not to eat the workpiece. If this happens, then the lid is most likely made of low-quality material.
