A proven Soviet trick that helps housewives out of difficult situations.
The method works in cases where the pan is covered with an old layer of black carbon and greasy deposits, both outside and inside.
How to clean a saucepan
1. The dishes to be washed are placed in a larger container. For example, in a 10-liter saucepan or iron bucket.
2. Fill a larger container with water (4 liters). Place the pan (bucket) on the fire and bring the liquid to a boil.
3. While the water is heating, grate the laundry soap (72%, 1/2 bar). Shavings and silicate glue (1 cup) are added to the boiling liquid.
To enhance the effect of the cleaning solution, add soda to the water. Both baking soda and soda ash are suitable. For 4 liters of water, take 1/3 of the package (not suitable for aluminum pans without coating).
3. Boil the resulting mixture for half an hour. If the contamination is very strong, then increase the time to 45 minutes or an hour.
4. After boiling, carefully remove the dishes and wash them as usual. Carbon deposits and greasy film can be washed off without difficulty.
