White plastic has only one drawback: over time it begins to turn yellow, and it seems that this process is irreversible.
The problem is widespread, and many housewives try to simply ignore the changes, because they do not see ways to solve it. Meanwhile, there are at least five of them.
Why does plastic turn yellow?
Cheap and expensive materials turn yellow. The reason for this is contact with oxygen, sunlight, temperature changes, smoking and improper care of plastic surfaces.
How to clean
First, you just need to clean the surface from dust and other dirt. If these are electrical devices, they need to be de-energized. After that, you can start cleaning.
1. Only use foam sponges or soft cloth napkins. Melamine sponges and hard brushes can ruin everything.
2. The water should be warm, as hot water causes yellowing.
3. Test cleaning materials on an inconspicuous area.
What to clean with
1. Grate laundry soap, dissolve in water, treat plastic with the solution and leave for 30 minutes. Then rinse.
2. First, clean the surface with a paste of soda and water, then apply white vinegar (70%) to a napkin and wipe the yellowed plastic.
3. Hydrogen peroxide (3%) allows you to gently whiten plastic surfaces. You can even soak removable elements in peroxide.
4. Washing powder with a bleaching effect works great if you strengthen it with soda. The components are mixed in a 1:1 ratio and washed off after 6-8 hours of treatment.
5. Mix the chalk and tooth powder and add a little water to form a paste-like mixture. Remove any remaining product after it has completely dried.
