If you just put tulips in water, they won’t live long, about three days.
However, with proper care, these flowers can last up to 10 days.
We'll tell you what to do with tulips so they last longer.
How to prolong the life of tulips
Before placing tulips in water, it is essential to refresh the cuts.
You don't need to trim it too much, 1-2 cm is enough. The cut should be straight, not oblique (this rule works for roses, but not for bulbous flowers).
The lower leaves should be removed so that they do not absorb water.
You can also pierce the stem with a needle just below the bud (about 2 cm). This way the flower will receive more oxygen.
The water must be cold. You don't need to pour a lot of water, it's enough to fill the vase 5-7 cm.
You need to change the water every day, or better yet, twice a day. You also need to refresh the cut daily, trimming it by 1-2 cm.
To keep the water cold longer, you can put a few ice cubes in the vase.
It is also important to keep the flower vase away from sunlight.
