The main reason why a shower head gets dirty is hard water.
It contains a lot of calcium and magnesium. The substances accumulate on plastic and metal and over time the deposits block the path of water.
The problem is typical for any watering cans – both cheap and expensive. There are many means that housewives use to destroy the layer of scale or plaque.
One of them is citric acid. It is an excellent household product that fights scale in the kettle. Citric acid can also be used to clean the shower head.
How to clean a shower head
1. For processing you will need 25 grams of citric acid. The powder is poured into any container that can hold boiling water.
2. Dissolve the citric acid and then place the watering can in the container so that the areas with scale and plaque are completely immersed in the liquid. Leave the watering can in this state for half an hour.
3. In 30 minutes the plaque will soak off. All that remains is to brush the shower head to remove any remaining dirt.
The second way
If citric acid doesn't work or you don't have it at hand, soda will help. Mix ½ cup of soda with a small amount of warm water in a bowl. After mixing, you should get a mass that resembles toothpaste.
The mixture is applied to the watering can and left for 20-30 minutes. Then it remains to rinse the nozzle to remove the remains of the solution and pieces of limescale.
