Poor water quality and lack of minimal maintenance of washing machine parts lead to contamination and breakdowns over time.
A powder tray covered in rust and limescale will not cause any serious consequences, but such a part looks terrible.
To restore the product to its original appearance, 5 minutes and a folk remedy are enough.
How to clean the tray
1. First, remove the tray and rinse it with plain water. Then, use an old toothbrush to clean the tray without using any products.
2. If not only rust but also stony powder deposits have accumulated on the surface, then citric acid will help.
For every liter of hot water, take 1.5 tablespoons of the product. Immerse the part in the solution, adding enough liquid so that the cuvette is completely immersed.
3. Citric acid will destroy powder deposits and remove some rust. Then all that remains is to wipe the tray with a melamine sponge. There will be no trace of rust or other dirt left.
It is better not to use bleach to clean the tray. Products containing chlorine are especially dangerous for plastic.
