Linoleum is one of the inexpensive materials for floor coverings, it has both advantages and disadvantages.
The latter includes the elasticity of the coating, due to which all the defects of the concrete floor are visible on it, but even worse - dents from furniture remain on it. How to deal with them?
Whatever materials are placed under the furniture legs, the sofa or chest of drawers will press on the linoleum with the same force. Having once started rearranging, you will have to invent something to disguise the defects on the smooth floor.
3 Ways to Remove Dents from Linoleum
1. Not the fastest, but effective. You will need a heavy and round object, like a kettlebell or dumbbell. If you roll them around small dents for a while, the defect will not be so noticeable.
2. However, it is much easier to take a building hair dryer and heat the damaged area, then also roll a heavy and round object over it. The material will heat up, become softer, and the dent will be easier to disguise.
3. No hair dryer – take an iron, put a thick cloth underneath and iron the damaged area. If you are afraid of damaging the coating, put a pan of boiling water on the cloth and then continue rolling out the dent.
And the last option that will help out in hopeless situations is to select a suitable piece of linoleum according to the pattern and size and replace the damaged area with it. However, the work must be precise, otherwise you will have to rack your brains over what to do with the seams.
