How to Iron a Cotton Shirt: No Creases Left

Before you start ironing the item, read the recommendations on the label.

Once you have studied the necessary information, you can safely pick up the iron.

Important: the process will be easier and faster if the shirt is slightly damp – you won’t have to spray the garment with water from a spray bottle or use the steam function.

To begin, straighten your collar – this is usually the most noticeable place, and it should be impeccable.

Iron from the inside out, from the edges to the middle, and then from the front side. There is no need to iron the fold.

In the same way as with the collar, deal with the cuffs.

To tidy up the sleeves, you will need to use a special section of the ironing board.

If the board is not equipped with such a "device", fold the sleeve in half, trying not to create a strong bend, and iron this area. After that, you should move on to the seam and back side of the sleeve.

Next in line are elements such as the front, yoke, areas near the collar and the placket where the buttons are attached.

The final stage is ironing the back. It is ironed starting from the right side seam along its entire length to the opposite one.
