How to avoid scale formation
Scale on the kettle is formed due to poor water quality. Tap water can contain many metals and other harmful substances. They are deposited as sediment, which increases over time.
There are several tips that can help you avoid scale build-up.
1. Installing purification systems on the water supply system. There are special filters that cope with such tasks. Their efficiency depends on many parameters. If it is not possible to use expensive purification systems, it is worth installing at least coarse filters.
2. Change the water more often. Most people always leave some water in the kettle. There is a simple rule: all the remains should be poured out. If you do not do this, the water will begin to stagnate, lose its taste and sediment will gradually begin to form.
3. Bottled or purified water. Another solution is to use purified water. However, it is worth paying attention to the manufacturer, as not all of them can be trusted.
4. Easy cleaning. Occasionally, you can take a kitchen sponge and wipe the bottom of the kettle. There is nothing complicated about this procedure, and you can get rid of the plaque. If you take this habit from the beginning, the plaque will not form at all.
These are simple recommendations that anyone can follow. At the same time, the recommendations can be called key, because scale in a kettle does not bring any benefit to the human body.
Why you need to fight scale
There are examples where some people do not take any action for years, believing that there is no point in doing so. This approach leads to the following negative consequences:
- over time, the scale layer only increases. As a result, the heat transfer of the parts decreases and the kettle begins to work incorrectly. For example, the temperature sensor will not work in a timely manner, which can lead to a breakdown of the device;
- the service life of the electrical appliance is significantly reduced;
- rust often appears under the layer of scale, which can remain unnoticed for a long time. The result is leakage and the risk of short circuit;
- some of the scale will get into the human body. There are frequent situations when even whole pieces break off and get into tea and other drinks. And scale can cause serious damage to the kidneys and bladder;
- the consumption of electrical energy increases significantly. The fact is that the kettle has to work longer, since scale significantly reduces the efficiency of the device;
- the kettle will constantly overheat the water. Such a nuisance manifests itself if we talk about serious contamination.
It is necessary to fight scale at all times; ignoring this problem is unacceptable.
