Midges are 80% more likely to appear in the kitchen than in any other room of the home.
The reason for this is high humidity combined with poor ventilation. Rotten fruits attract insects with their intoxicating aroma.
In other rooms, midges can be attracted mainly only to flower pots. If you overwater the "green pets", then favorable conditions for the reproduction of insects will be created in the soil.
Owners who do not intend to put up with uninvited "guests" make a simple trap. The sooner you start getting rid of insects, the less offspring they will leave in the pots.
You won't need any duct tape. You can make a trap that's less noticeable to the eye.
Midge trap
You will need a plastic cup and cling film. Place the bait (a piece of fruit, juice, sweet syrup) on the bottom.
The container is covered with cling film, in which a small hole is made. The glass should be placed where midges usually swarm.
In a few hours or the next day there will be a lot of winged insects. They easily get inside, but they won't be able to get back out. In a couple of days all the midges will be "collected".
