The only downside is the unpleasant smell of the siphon, which some people cannot stand. Important advice: when disassembling the siphon, there must be a container underneath. If the remains of the siphon fall on the floor and start spreading around the kitchen, nothing good should be expected.
Household chemicals
Most people are familiar with the existence of special powders and gels that help to combat blockages.
There is no point in singling out specific products, because it would look like advertising. Household chemicals are easy to use, but things are not so clear-cut here.
How can conventional means help if we are talking about a blockage that consists of plant and solid residues?
Many drain cleaners only have a preventive effect. However, they are worth trying anyway, especially since the cost remains at an acceptable level.
Soda and salt
There are often situations when a blockage appears at the most inopportune moment and there is no opportunity to buy special products and other devices in the store.
In this case, you can remember folk methods. You can mix a glass of table salt with half a glass of salt. The substances need to be poured into the sink and pour boiling water. After 30 minutes, you need to turn on a strong stream of water.
Vinegar and soda
Many people know about this method. It makes sense to use it only if the blockage is superficial. The gist: several tablespoons of soda are poured into the sink, and they are filled with 50 ml of vinegar. A chemical reaction will immediately begin, which will help get rid of the blockage. It is worth noting that this method will not help if there is water in the sink or a plug somewhere deep in the pipes.
Hot water
The method is not effective, but why not try it? If the water has drained from the sink, you can pour boiling water and watch the reaction. If the blockage is minor, the particles will gradually begin to soften and the blockage will disappear.
Plumbing cable
A plumbing cable can handle even serious blockages. To use it, you will have to completely disassemble the siphon. This method is used by all utility workers, because the efficiency and speed are at a level. And there is no particular sense in buying a cable specifically for clearing blockages.
