Agree, it often happens that new curtains are too long. As a rule, this drawback is discovered only when the canvases are already hanging on the window.
It sounds fantastic, but you can shorten overly long curtains even if you have no experience with a sewing machine – you simply won’t need one, just as you won’t need to remove the curtains from the window.
First, steam the curtains thoroughly to remove any creases or folds.
After such an operation, the length of the curtains may even increase slightly, so you should not neglect steaming.
After this, bend the curtain so that it reaches the required length - usually curtains are placed so that they do not reach the floor by about 0.5 cm.
And now the main secret: adhesive web. Many manufacturers put it in the packaging with curtains, but if you did not find it in your purchase, you can buy adhesive web in a craft store.
It is better if the web has a diamond-shaped structure - it holds the fabric together almost tightly and will not come off after washing.
Place the web under the hem and iron it in place. Move an ironing board to the window for convenience.
