A deep plastic soap dish is ideal not only for storing bar soap, but also for collecting large amounts of water.
Such an improvised “swamp” is detrimental to both the usefulness and the aesthetics.
If you are just choosing the right accessory for storing soap, opt for soap dishes that have special holes designed to remove liquid.
Alternatively, find a soap dish with a textured bottom that will lift the soap off the surface, preventing it from getting soggy.
In the same case, if you have already managed to acquire a soap dish, you should act a little differently.
If you have a soldering iron handy, simply make a few holes in the soap dish to allow water to drain.
Don't forget that in such a situation you will need to take care of an additional stand under the soap dish.
There is another, much simpler option. It consists of placing a foam sponge similar to the one used for washing dishes inside the soap dish.
This way the soap will be elevated and excess moisture will be absorbed into the sponge.
