Another thing you will need is a small block of wood. This can be replaced with any scrap of wood.
Cover one side of the piece of wood you have on hand with masking tape, then connect it to the strip of masking tape on the laminate using superglue.
All that's left is to take a hammer and hit the end of the block with a sharp movement, after which the gap will disappear. Remove the masking tape from the laminate along with the block and enjoy the result.
