Currently, non-influenza respiratory viruses are circulating in Belarus.
This was reported by Alla Dashkevich, Deputy Chief Physician for Epidemiology at the Russian Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health.
What viruses are currently circulating in Belarus
As Dashkevich explained, currently in the country respiratory infections are caused by non-influenza respiratory viruses.
These include rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, and parainfluenza viruses.
And the bacterial flora, in particular, this year is mycoplasma, the specialist clarified.
As for the coronavirus, according to the epidemiologist, it is increasingly acquiring the characteristics of a seasonal infection.
With characteristic increases in morbidity in the autumn-winter period, Dashkevich said.
She noted that respiratory infections are recorded throughout the year, including in the summer.
There are simply fewer of them, ” added the deputy head physician.
According to her, during the autumn holidays in schools, the incidence of respiratory infections should decrease.
We currently have a situation typical for this period of the year, and the incidence rates are lower than those in 2023, the epidemiologist summed up.
