Fraudsters continue to hone their skills in order to be able to profit from the gullibility of ordinary citizens.
The unstable situation in the world and everyone’s desire to increase their wealth create the ground for new ways of stealing money from wallets.
Evgeny Egorov, an analyst at the Digital Risk Protection department of the FAC.S.T. company, warned Telegram users about a new type of Internet fraud, Izvestia reports.
Fraudsters are getting into the wallets of users of the popular messenger, offering them interesting vacancies.
Initially, the attackers send out a mass mailing with information about employment opportunities.
They post job vacancies on behalf of well-known companies without having any connection to them.
They obtain contacts of potential victims from stolen databases.
Then everything is simple. When responding to a vacancy, the user ends up on a scammers' website.
Here the victim is asked to create an account in order to perform various tasks.
By carrying out these instructions, the user will supposedly replenish his account.
But at the same time, the applicant is required to pay a commission or enter bank card details.
In addition to stealing money from bank accounts, attackers send out malware, links to phishing sites, or simply collect a database for further sale.
As the expert warned, this scheme has become widespread.
