In Belarus, they are planning to release a domestic mobile phone with software of their own production.
Alexander Lukashenko stated this at a meeting with students of engineering and technical universities at BSUIR.
According to the President, today the country produces modern buses and electric buses, passenger cars, tractors and combines.
The quality of this product, the Belarusian leader notes, is not inferior to foreign analogues.
He also drew attention to achievements in the field of microelectronics (“they even made their own laptop”), information technology, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
The President pointed out that he had named only a small part of everything that the republic has, and it continues to develop in various directions.
And we will also make a domestic mobile phone, which is being talked about a lot now, the head of state’s press service quotes him as saying.
He stressed that the Belarusian smartphone “must be made,” since gadgets have recently begun to be used as “combat weapons.”
This is already a matter of national security, said Alexander Lukashenko.
