On Monday, hockey city Ufa, the capital of Bashkortostan, witnessed an extremely interesting match.
The battle of the leaders of the Eastern Conference of the Kontinental Hockey League took place in this city.
The local Salavat Yulaev fought with Chelyabinsk Traktor. And to the delight of the spectators who came to the match, they defeated them, having already won their fourth victory in a row.
The hosts started the match so briskly that by the 11th minute they were leading 2:0. That's when the visitors replaced their goalkeeper.
But Canadian Zaku Fucale didn't help the team much either, except that he kept the team from scoring until the end of the second period, which was a plus.
But in the end, he also got two hits. Thus, Traktor missed four times, managing to score only once.
The home team's 4-1 victory was their fourth in a row.
This allowed them to get very close to the Chelyabinsk team, who are still leading in the East – now the teams are separated by only two points.
