Last summer, the Georgian national team surprised many football fans with its performance at the European Championship.
Firstly, the very fact that the Transcaucasian team made it to the final part of the continental championship was astonishing.
Secondly, the Georgian team advanced from the group.
Thirdly, in their third match in the group stage, the Georgian footballers sensationally beat Cristiano Ronaldo and company: the Portuguese team lost with a score of 0:2.
In the first match of the Euro 2024 playoffs, the Georgian national team lost to Spain. But overall, the Georgians' performance at the championship was decent.
And, apparently, the Transcaucasian squad is not going to slow down.
On Saturday, September 7, the Georgian national team won their first match of the current UEFA Nations League.
The Georgians beat the Czechs. And not just beat them, they crushed them. The match ended with a score of 4:1, Internet sources report.

The score was opened just over half an hour after the starting whistle: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia converted a penalty.
In the 53rd minute of the game, midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze doubled the lead of the Georgian team.
Ten minutes later, Georges Mikautadze made the score a rout. And three minutes later, the Czechs conceded a fourth goal: Georgiy Kochorashvili scored.
However, in the 80th minute of the match, the Czech national team managed to score a goal of prestige. This happened thanks to midfielder Lukas Kalvach.
The confident victory allowed the Georgian team to top the standings of Group 1 of League B.
