On Friday, September 6, the third season of the Commonwealth Cup in Biathlon started.
The first stage of the competition takes place in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk.
Until today, only Russian women have won the women's competition.
However, on September 8, the situation changed: for the first time this season, a representative of Belarus won.
We are talking about Dinara Smolskaya, who won the mass start race.

Progress of the mass start race at the first stage of the Commonwealth Cup
29 athletes took part in the race. Among them were representatives of Belarus: Dinara Smolskaya and Anna Sola.
At the first firing line, Smolskaya missed once. The same thing happened at the second prone position.
After the second shooting, the Belarusian was ninth.
However, Smolskaya did not miss a single shot during the third shooting. Accuracy and high speed allowed the representative of Belarus to lead the race.
The Belarusian missed one shot during the final shooting. After the penalty loop, Smolskaya was second, but in the end she managed to overtake the Russian Viktoria Slivko and win.
Unfortunately, Anna Sola was unable to finish the race: she dropped out.
