The new season of the Football League of Nations has started. With the participation of the national team of Belarus. And Bulgaria, which opposed the Belarusians.
The first match – nominally home for Carlos Alos Ferrer’s team – took place in the city of Zalaegerszeg (Hungary).
The meeting between the national teams of Belarus and Bulgaria, which were placed in Group C3, ended in a goalless draw.
It is worth noting that the Bulgarians had a noticeable advantage on the field, both in terms of ball possession and the number of dangerous moments created.
The goalkeeper of the Belarusian team, Fyodor Lapoukhov, showed himself well, not allowing the opponent to realize very promising moments.
In the second half, the Belarusians managed to even out the game, but this period also proved fruitless in terms of goals scored.
The teams from Northern Ireland and Luxembourg played each other in the same group. The former beat the visitors 2-0 in Belfast.
It is the latter that the Belarusians will play in the next round – on September 8. And on the 12th – again on Hungarian territory – they will meet in a fight with Northern Ireland.
Let us add that the winners of the four groups of League C will directly advance to League B.
The teams that finish second will play in play-off matches with the teams that finish third in League B groups.
