On air on the ONT TV channel, Belarusian meteorologist Dmitry Ryabov shared a preliminary forecast.
What will winter be like in general?
Overall, this winter is expected to be mild and quite warm.
But there is also bad news: the weather may be unstable at some periods. We need to prepare for a rather "capricious" winter.
There will be days with unfavorable weather conditions. It is unlikely that there will be no snowstorms, strong winds, icy conditions, severe frost, large amounts of snow, etc.
Air temperature
According to the forecast, the average monthly air temperature will be 1-3 degrees above normal.
The latter, by the way, is equal to 5.5 degrees below zero.
However, we are talking about the average indicator.
Both thaws and severe frosts are expected. However, the former will most likely prevail over the latter.
The predicted number of days with thaw: from 25 (north-eastern part of Belarus) to 50 (south-eastern part of the country).
Precipitation
It is expected that this winter the precipitation norm in the republic will be exceeded, which is 115 mm for this time of year.
The next 11 weeks will see both snowy and rainy days. There will likely be mixed precipitation days as well.
