On September 25, the upper house of the Belarusian parliament approved a bill on employment issues.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reported on key innovations.
What will change for the unemployed
Firstly, the approach to training the unemployed is changing. They will be trained on the employer's order.
Opportunities for education have been expanded: for citizens caring for a minor child with disabilities, it will be free.
It will be possible to register as unemployed not only at the place of registration, but also at the place of residence. It will also be possible to do this by electronic registration at the employment service.
The unemployment benefit payment period is reduced from 6 to 3 months. This rule does not apply to citizens who live in areas with a tense situation on the labor market, and those who have 5 or fewer years left until retirement.
The period of registration with the employment service is also reduced – from 18 to 12 months.
The list of categories of unemployed people who are given the opportunity to find employment against their reservation is being expanded.
Employers will be required to submit vacancies to the All-Republican Vacancy Bank only in electronic form (with the exception of employers with no more than 5 employees).
It is prohibited to post information about vacancies on commercial online resources not declared to the All-Republican Bank.
At the same time, employers will be able to submit information to the All-Republican Bank about both the current and future need for workers.
In addition, the institution of quotas for jobs for disabled people is being introduced.
