What Guterres said about record heat in 2025
According to the UN Secretary General, this year has shown that climate cataclysms have become commonplace: record rains, hurricanes, droughts and fires were observed around the world, and temperatures were established in a number of countries that exceeded the limits of human endurance.
Next year promises to be the hottest in history, the head of the organization said.
He said the UN was working on a package of solutions to combat extreme heat.
“We need to do this urgently before the next heat wave hits, ” Guterres added.
