From November 4 to 27, the homes and apartments of Belarusians, as well as dormitories, retail outlets, universities and colleges, railway and bus stations will be visited by Emergencies Ministry employees.
These visits are planned as part of the ministry’s national campaign entitled “Don’t waste your life!”
According to the press service of the department, one of the most common causes of fires in the country is careless handling of fire while smoking.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, over the first 10 months of this year, 1,010 fires were caused by cigarettes in Belarus, in which 259 people died.
In order to prevent fires and deaths from them due to careless handling of fire while smoking, a republican information and propaganda campaign “Don’t burn your life!” will be held from November 4 to 27, the press service reported.
During this period, department employees will visit dormitories, including student dormitories, universities and colleges, railway and bus stations, and retail facilities.
They organize interactive classes and master classes on the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment and first aid on site.
In addition, they will remind you about the consequences of smoking, show you how an autonomous fire alarm works, and show you videos of “Victims of a Bad Habit.”
During the specified period, “intensive fire prevention work will be carried out in the residential sector.”
In particular, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees will visit the homes and apartments of Belarusians, reminding their compatriots of the need to comply with fire safety rules.
