How scammers cheat on Telegram
As the capital's police reported, recently users of this messenger began receiving spam mailings from acquaintances asking them to "support a relative in a competition."
The messages ask to follow a link supposedly for voting. When following the link, the user is taken to a page with a fake competition.
To count your vote, you are asked to enter your phone number and the authorization code from Telegram.
If you enter the code, the scammers will gain access to your account, be able to manage your account and even change the phone number linked to it.
The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs reminds: you cannot enter codes from SMS on pages opened from messages in messengers, even if the messages are sent on behalf of a friend.
