Strong wind in Belarus. Emergencies Ministry warns of serious risks

The first day of the new November week in Belarus started with an invasion of heavy grey clouds, rain and sleet.

But the biggest trouble could be caused by the wind – forecasters say that today it will get really fierce, and could reach 15-18 meters per second.

In connection with such unfavorable meteorological conditions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations contacted its compatriots via its Telegram channel.

Rescuers warned Belarusians about the risks (and significant ones) that residents of the republic may face on Monday.

According to the agency, today the following may be dangerous factors:

– damage (break) of communication and power lines, disruption of power supply;
– collapse of weakly reinforced structures, roofs of buildings, structures;
- falling trees.

Therefore, it is recommended to be extra careful and very cautious today.

Let us add that, as forecasters previously reported, in addition to strong winds, rain with wet snow is expected in Belarus on November 18.

The air temperature across the country is forecast to range from +2 to +7 degrees.
