The scammers just won’t calm down and continue to deceive Russians and Belarusians.
This time they launched a new scheme – they used the popular messenger Telegram.
Quite a few users have already encountered the problem – they believed the messages they received with spam mailings and lost control over their accounts.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Information of Belarus on its official Telegram channel, incoming messages inform recipients about an alleged gift for them.
This means an annual subscription to Telegram Premium.
To receive the "gift", citizens are asked to follow the link provided. After which, they are assured, the "subscription" is activated.
Under no circumstances should you follow this link, otherwise your account may be hacked and your personal data may be stolen.
In order to mislead the user, the mailing is carried out from the accounts of acquaintances and contacts, after a few hours the message disappears, the Ministry of Information notes.
The agency strongly recommends that messenger users do not follow such links and ignore messages containing them.
For reference
Telegram is a cross-platform messenger founded in 2013 by Pavel and Nikolay Durov.
