The State Traffic Inspectorate of Belarus pays special attention to preventing road accidents, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reports.
On weekends, in order to ensure safety, 24-hour monitoring of the roadway condition is organized.
It is noted that since December 1, 12 administrative cases have been filed against officials of road and municipal organizations for violations of road maintenance rules.
Under special control
The special police unit "Strela" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be on duty at the most accident-prone sections of roads in the Vitebsk and Minsk regions.
The traffic police officers will be on duty with their blue flashing lights on.
What will they check?
During the inspection, attention will be paid to the condition of the car tires, compliance with the speed limit, rules for crossing crossings and overtaking.
Law enforcement officials remind that difficult weather conditions persist in most of the republic: precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain, air temperatures close to zero, fog and ice.
In such conditions, drivers should choose a safe speed, keep a safe distance and interval, avoid sudden maneuvers, use seat belts themselves and ensure the safe transportation of passengers.
Addressing pedestrians, inspectors remind them of the need to use reflective elements and to be extremely careful when crossing the roadway.
