The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova warned of a high risk of bird flu spreading to humans.
The chief state sanitary doctor of Russia made this statement on December 12 at a conference on combating infectious diseases.

What Popova said about bird flu spreading to humans
The head of Rospotrebnadzor stated that the risk of bird flu spreading to humans is high.
Today we see a high risk in highly pathogenic avian influenza and in interspecies transition, Popova said.
She noted that cases of bird flu spreading to humans have been registered more than once every few years and more than once a year.
According to the chief state sanitary doctor of Russia, information about cases of people being infected with bird flu of different genotypes is received almost weekly.
