Rospotrebnadzor has taken control of morning screenings in kindergartens and schools following mass reports of Coxsackie virus cases.
The department's press service reported this on Telegram.
What Rospotrebnadzor said about the situation with the Coxsackie virus
According to Russian media, cases of Coxsackie virus are being recorded en masse in kindergartens and schools across the country.
In connection with this, Rospotrebnadzor stated that they will monitor the implementation of morning filters in children's institutions.
The department reminded that morning screening is mandatory during the seasonal increase in morbidity, and that this procedure includes checking for fever, runny nose, cough, etc.
If the above symptoms are detected, the child is isolated from the group until recovery.
The department called on parents to immediately seek medical help if their child shows signs of illness.
Preventive measures include: observing personal hygiene rules, drinking boiled or bottled water, washing vegetables and fruits, avoiding contact with people showing signs of respiratory/intestinal infections.
Coxsackie virus is accompanied by a rash and fever, the source of infection is a sick or healthy carrier. The virus mainly infects children when it comes into contact with food, water, through dirty hands, toys.
