The Minister noted that issues of social support are given paramount importance in Belarus.
In just the last few weeks, the President has signed a number of key documents aimed at increasing support for large families, pensioners, and the disabled.
Thus, the family capital program has been extended for 5 years. From May 1 next year, financial support for veterans of the Great Patriotic War will be strengthened.
Veterans of military operations in other countries and former prisoners of fascism are provided with free health resort treatment and rehabilitation, free provision of medicines, etc.
The Decree “On Social Support” removes restrictions on the size of pensions for working pensioners.
The document also provides for a reduction in the insurance period for mothers who have given birth to and raised four or more children, and additional guarantees for the appointment of an early pension (five years earlier) for fathers who raise disabled children without the participation of the mother.
