As long as the food service industry exists, there will be a demand for waiters.
Those workers who serve customers in cafes and restaurants, take orders, make payments, help with choosing dishes, etc.
As in many countries, waiters are very popular in Belarus, as evidenced by the over four hundred vacancies in the state employment service database alone.
Features of work
Professionals work not only in the catering industry. You can meet them, for example, in the hotel and tourism business, in sanatoriums, and some healthcare institutions.
They are also used in industrial enterprises, in the transport sector, agriculture, housing and communal services organizations, etc.
The main feature of a waiter's job is taking orders from customers and then fulfilling them.
The waiter also brings the bill. Often, along with the required amount of payment, the worker is left a tip.
The second specific feature of the profession is the need to be sociable, polite and courteous, which is associated with constant communication with clients.
A friendly and attentive waiter leaves a favorable impression of the establishment's work as a whole and the client's desire to return here again.
Perhaps the client will even recommend this restaurant or cafe to his friends.
In addition to politeness, a waiter needs such qualities as patience and endurance, because sometimes there are aggressive customers.
Terms and Conditions
You have to work on your feet almost the entire shift.
Therefore, once again, endurance and only endurance – with good physical and psychological health.
In addition, the waiter needs to know everything about the dishes and drinks offered to customers by his establishment.
Also, employees often help a person decide on a dish with their advice, for example, by recommending a signature dish or one from the chef, describing it in detail.
If the waiter is also asked to give details about another dish, he should do so.
Naturally, at the visitor’s request, he promptly informs them how much a particular dish costs.
Well, as was mentioned above, waiters receive tips from grateful customers for their work.
