Today, when almost everything and everyone is somehow connected with electricity, electricians are in particular demand in society.
Belarus is no exception, with a high demand for these specialists among employers in the labour market in the fall of 2024.
The State Employment Service database alone contains over 730 current vacancies.
What and where do electricians do?
Don't think that they are called to work only to ensure that a light bulb is screwed in or that the wiring is replaced in a timely manner.
Or to quickly solve the problem with blown fuses. Such options are by no means the only ones an electrician can do.
In businesses, for example, professionals are generally responsible for the smooth operation of electrical systems or electrically powered machinery and equipment.
By the way, in addition to “pure” electricians, there are also highly specialized specialists, such as, say, electrical fitters or electrical engineers.
If we talk about housing and communal services, it is the electrician who ensures that there is light in your home, and if problems arise, he fixes them.
In particularly difficult cases, for example, when dealing with the aftermath of a natural disaster that results in damaged power lines, entire emergency teams with teams of electricians work.
Today, workers are employed virtually everywhere: in factories and plants, industrial enterprises, schools and hospitals, stores, in the catering industry, in agriculture, construction, etc.
Professionals and individuals who own or rent apartments, houses, and cottages hire them.
Peculiarities of the profession
All of them stem from the professional's activities, the key feature of which is to ensure and maintain uninterrupted power supply.
If there are any failures, the electrician will fix them. Of course, within the scope of his competence.
An electrician must service the equipment, repair it if necessary, install it, assemble electrical components, etc.
One of the specific features of the work is that it, the work, carries risks to health, sometimes to life.
Therefore, in addition to having professional knowledge and skills that can be effectively implemented in practice, a specialist is also required to comply with safety precautions, which he must know like the multiplication table.
Another feature is that the work is associated with electrical and human physical stress.
Therefore, it is quite difficult, exhausting, requires constant concentration and increased vigilance, because electricity is no joke.
It often happens that an employee needs to make instant decisions on which a lot may depend. And many may depend on it.
Salaries
This fall, Belarusian electricians can count on a wide salary range.
The mentioned database of the State Employment Service contains vacancies with salaries ranging from a minimum of 626 to a maximum of 4,000–5,000 rubles.
And most often, judging by the offers from employers, salaries are offered in the amount of 1,200 to 1,500 rubles.
Who pays the electrician the "minimum"? For example, OAO "Dovatorsky" from the Sharkovshchinsky district of the Vitebsk region.
The same 626 rubles will be issued to an electrician for the repair of electrical equipment by the Brest Regional Executive Committee (Brest) and the Lida company from the city of the same name.
A similar amount for an electrical engineer is available at the Velikodoletskoye State Agricultural Enterprise (Ushachsky District, Vitebsk Region).
Most popular
As already noted, this autumn they are in the range from 1,200 to 1,500 rubles.
This is how much an electrical fitter for repairing electrical equipment can earn if he gets a job at the company "Akvasan" (Smorgon).
