About 10,000 pensioners will be interested in receiving additional income after the abolition of the pension cap for working pensioners from January 1 next year.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus Valery Kovalkov on October 31 at a press conference dedicated to innovations in pension provision and the extension of the family capital program.

What the Ministry of Labor said about the abolition of the limit on the pension size of working pensioners
This restriction was lifted by the decree of the head of state “On social support”, signed on October 29.
As Kovalkov explained, the innovations provided for by the decree are aimed primarily at working pensioners and citizens of pre-retirement age who are compiling a package of documents to apply for a pension.
We believe that about 10,000 pensioners will be interested in receiving additional income after the restrictions are lifted, the deputy minister said.
According to him, currently a working pensioner who is not engaged in agricultural production receives a pension with a limitation of the individual earnings coefficient (IEC) of 1.3.
For pensioners whose IQR is higher than 1.3, work is associated with a limitation on the size of the pension. The limitation is individual and can be up to 500 rubles.
There are about 446,000 working pensioners in the country. A limited pension is paid to 110,000 pensioners. All of them will receive a full pension from January 1.
The Deputy Minister of Labor noted that this will increase the income level of pensioners and help resolve issues of staffing.
As the deputy minister explained, the lifting of the restriction will become an additional incentive for pensioners who would like to work, but because of the restriction they consider it economically inexpedient.
Also, this innovation, Kovalkov added, will help to secure a foothold in the labor market for pensioners who are already working: they will not have an additional reason to quit.
