The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on granting citizenship to 257 people.
The head of state also signed a decree on granting asylum.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state approved 257 applications for Belarusian citizenship from foreigners and stateless persons residing in the country.
Citizens of Belarus have become citizens of 16 countries: Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Syria and others.
It is noted that among the new citizens of Belarus there are 15 minors.
The head of state granted asylum to Tomasz Schmidt, who is being persecuted in Poland for political reasons.
