Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus on the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement in the country.
He also addressed congratulations to the staff of the Faculty of Journalism of BSU (80th anniversary) and Vitebsk State Medical University (90th anniversary).
The message sent to the FPB notes that trade unions have been defending workers’ rights since the beginning of the 20th century.
Solidarity, justice, the desire to work together for the good of the country – these principles have always been and remain the basis of your work, the President’s press service quotes him as saying.
Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus
Speaking about the modern Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, he called the organization “a truly popular association.”
The FPB, the Belarusian leader notes, “promotes the development of social partnership between the state, workers and employers.”
According to him, the Federation's authority was largely ensured by:
– active participation in normative activities;
– effective control over compliance with labor legislation;
– defending the interests of Belarus at the International Labour Organization.
The head of state wished all FPB employees health, prosperity, new achievements and victories.
Faculty of Journalism, BSU
In a congratulatory message addressed to the Faculty of Journalism of BSU, the Faculty of Journalism is called the leading educational center of the republic in the field of mass media.
It is said that the faculty’s educational base has been the foundation for training “qualified specialists and true professionals for the domestic media industry” for many years.
By covering the life of our state on a daily basis, graduates of the faculty, in their faces, events and facts, form the modern image of the Motherland and protect its information sovereignty, Lukashenko states.
He is confident that high standards of educational quality will continue to ensure the development of domestic journalism.
VSMU
In his congratulations to the VSMU staff, the President noted that the history of this university, associated with the era of the formation of Belarusian statehood and the development of the national healthcare system, began with the opening of the hospital-university.
According to him, the university is now a major center for practice-oriented medical education and science.
According to the text of the message, today this university employs professionals who “continue the traditions laid down by their predecessors, whose names Belarus is proud of.”
Separately, Lukashenko noted that VSMU is introducing new teaching methods and modern technologies for providing medical care, which takes the quality of training specialists to a new level.
He thanked the university for its significant contribution to the development of the national healthcare system.
