Lithuania to tighten border controls with Belarus from November 11

Since November 11 of this year, Lithuania has been strengthening controls on the border with Belarus.

The customs of the Baltic republic will be particularly careful in checking transport to determine what specific goods are being exported from the country.

In other words, goods from the “risk group” whose export from the territory of the European Union is prohibited are subject to enhanced inspection.

The Lithuanian customs service explained that close attention will be paid to the export of electronics, in particular, the export of chips, microcircuits and some other components.

In addition, certain other goods subject to Brussels' "sanctions regulation" will also be strictly controlled.

Customs classified these as medical diagnostic equipment, various mechanisms, their parts and “similar goods”.

Thus, dual-use products are now subject to increased control by Lithuania.

By the way, the EU “black list” also includes goods from the “used” category, which are usually found in second-hand stores.

From now on, it is prohibited to import them into Belarus or export them to the countries of the European Union.

The EU authorities have demanded that European exporters include a clause in their contracts refusing to supply to Belarus.
