The weather has worsened in Belarus. Today, November 29, precipitation – rain and sleet – is observed in many regions, including the capital.
Such weather conditions increase the risks for road users, including pedestrians.
In this regard, the Minsk State Traffic Inspectorate gave valuable recommendations on its official Telegram channel on how to behave on the roads from a safety point of view.
First of all, law enforcement officers advise both drivers and pedestrians to be extremely careful and attentive.
Those who are driving today are advised to follow safety precautions, choose a safe speed, and keep the maximum possible distance from the vehicle in front.
In such weather conditions, it is not recommended to brake sharply, perform risky maneuvers, and, if possible, avoid overtaking.
Drivers should be especially careful when driving through pedestrian crossings, bridges, and road curves.
Don't forget about seat belts - you need to fasten them in the back seats too.
Pedestrians crossing the roadway also need to be attentive. And this can only be done at pedestrian crossings.
In inclement weather, it is important to make yourself more visible by using reflective elements, the State Traffic Inspectorate summed up.
