In the Gomel region, children's toys were sold that were potentially dangerous to health.

They were identified during an inspection by employees of the regional State Standard Inspectorate.

As reported by the press service of the department, this product does not comply with the technical regulations of the Customs Union due to the excess of the “level of formaldehyde migration into the air.”

We are talking about educational toys made of HDF (high density fibreboard) for children over three years old.

These are puzzles marked "THREE OWLS", wooden puzzles in a frame "Unicorn" and "Corgi".

Toys for children's creativity made from wood materials (for children over 5 years old) are also recognized as dangerous.

These are toys from the "Technology" series marked "Three Owls": two wooden construction sets - "Bulldozer" and "Racing Car".

The press service emphasized that the named products are dangerous.

When using these toys, there may be a threat to the health and life of children due to the materials used in their manufacture.

It is specified that the danger is posed by formaldehyde, which, in particular, negatively affects the central nervous system, genetic material, reproductive organs, respiratory tract, skin and eyes.

In addition, there is a risk of developing cancer, and if a carcinogenic substance comes into contact with the skin and mucous membranes, as well as if inhaled, it poses a danger to life.

Following the inspection, the import and sale of the said toys in Belarus were prohibited, the inspection concluded.
