From December 15, Belarusian Railways will put into effect the train schedule for 2024/2025.

It was compiled on the basis of monitoring the demand for transportation, the directions of predominant passenger flows and the requirements of the system of state social standards for public service in the transport sector.

The Belarusian Railways press service reported this.

How will trains run in Belarus from December 15

The new schedule provides for the operation of 382 pairs of passenger trains.

When drawing up the route network within the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the railway administrations of the two countries took into account the length of the route and the needs of the population.

International passenger transportation on the Belarus-Russia route will be carried out from December 15 on the main passenger-generating routes in direct and non-stop service with the following cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Anapa, Mineralnye Vody, Adler, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Arkhangelsk.

The travel time of trains No. 489 Anapa – Minsk, No. 301 Adler – Minsk and No. 302 Minsk – Adler will be reduced by 102, 162 and 43 minutes respectively.

Also, together with Russian Railways, next year, suburban border train service will be organized on the following sections: Smolensk – Zaolsha (2 pairs of trains from January 1), Velikiye Luki/Novosokolniki – Aleshcha (one pair of trains) and Smolensk – Osinovka (2 pairs of trains).

When drawing up the schedule for intra-republican traffic, special attention was paid to the development and strengthening of transport links between regions, including through the use of motor-car rolling stock on passenger-generating routes connecting Minsk with regional centers, Mozyr, Orsha, Pinsk and Polotsk.

In the communication between Minsk and regional centers, a number of trains will cover the distance to Gomel in two hours and 50 minutes, to Mogilev in two hours and 40 minutes, to Brest in three hours, and to Grodno in three hours and 52 minutes.

On weekends, pre-holidays and holidays, additional trains are provided on the most popular routes both within the country and in communication with Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The schedule of regional economy class train lines, compiled on the basis of monitoring demand for transportation and as a result of joint work with regional executive committees to optimize traffic on low-intensity sections and organize regular road transportation, provides for the operation of 249 pairs of trains.
