The Ministry of Health of Belarus is initiating a discussion on the issue of providing the opportunity to conduct a second free attempt at IVF.
This was reported by the head of the department, Alexander Khodjaev, noting that a second free attempt is offered if the first was unsuccessful.
To give, so to speak, a woman a second chance to become a mother, the Belta agency quotes the minister as saying.
Currently, one free attempt at IVF in state medical institutions is provided to spouses (both must be citizens of Belarus), provided that the woman is under 40 years of age.
According to Khodjaev, over the past 3 years, the republican budget expenditures amounted to approximately 17 million rubles.
He also reported that a bank of donor reproductive cells operates in the country, thanks to which many infertile couples have the opportunity to become parents.
In addition, patients receiving medical care using assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF, are provided with a preferential loan.
