Belarusian diplomats continue to work to help their compatriots currently in Syria return home.
Another group of Belarusian citizens was recently evacuated from this Arab republic.
The press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this on its page on the social network VKontakte.
According to the report, the evacuation was ensured following the work of the Belarusian Embassy in Syria and the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Consuls currently located in Beirut, Lebanon, also participated in the work.
As a result of the work of the Embassy of Belarus in Syria and the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the consuls currently in Beirut, the evacuation of another group of our citizens from Damascus has been ensured, the Foreign Ministry noted.
According to him, 22 Belarusians who were working there under commercial contracts (servicing the Tishrinskaya thermal power plant) have safely left Syria.
At present, all these citizens are heading to Belarus – they are already moving “through the territory of the Union State.”
The Ministry expressed gratitude to everyone who helped resolve this difficult issue.
They also thanked foreign partners and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Lebanon.
It is stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work to provide possible assistance to Belarusians.
To those compatriots who, for various reasons, found themselves in regions “with difficult military-political conditions.”
