According to weather forecasters, this week Belarus is expected to see a sharp contrast in temperatures between the southwest and northeast.
Precipitation will fall in the form of snow, sleet and rain. With fluctuations in temperature, icy conditions will be observed in some areas.
Strong winds will persist on Tuesday and Wednesday, BELTA reports, citing Belhydromet.

On Tuesday, December 17, occasional precipitation in the form of rain and sleet is expected, with icy conditions possible in some places at night and in the morning.
Strong winds of 15-20 m/s are forecast across the country (orange alert level declared).
At night it will be from -1 to +5 degrees, in the south-western regions – up to +7 degrees. During the day it will be from +1 degree in the north-east to +9 degrees in the south-west.
On Wednesday, short-term precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and rain, icy conditions and strong winds of 15-20 m/s are forecast in some areas.
At night, the temperature will be from -4 degrees in the northern regions to +4 degrees in the southwest, and during the day, from -2 degrees in the north to +7 degrees in the southwest.
On Thursday, precipitation in the form of snow and sleet turning to rain is expected across the country.
In some areas, icy conditions are expected at night and in the morning.
At night it will be from -6 degrees in the north-eastern regions to +5 degrees in the western regions, during the day – from +1 degree in the east to +9 degrees in the west.
According to preliminary forecasts, warm weather will persist on Friday, and then with the arrival of a cool air mass, the temperature will decrease, but will still exceed the climatic norm.
Rain is forecast across the country on Friday. During the day it will turn into wet snow. The air temperature during the day will be +1-6 degrees.
On Saturday, short-term precipitation in the form of snow and sleet is expected in some areas.
Ice may form in some places. Temperatures during the day will be from -3 to +3 degrees.
On Sunday night in some areas, and during the day throughout the country, short-term precipitation in the form of snow and sleet is forecast.
Black ice is expected in some places, and light black ice in the western regions during the day.
At night there will be from 5 degrees below zero to 1 degree above zero, during the day – from -3 to +3 degrees.
